Dear Hunting Friends,

We hope those who hunted in Zimbabwe enjoyed their time here, despite the various interesting developments going on.  We hope to see many of you again in 2009 and trust that the credit crunch will soon start on a more helpful path - these things usually do if you keep a cool head.

As in previous years we do urge you to hunt with our members .  We have no hold on people who are not members, and cannot vouch for them.

Please check with the U.S. and/or E.U. State Departments on the revised Banned List vis a vis the Lacey Act.  Some new names have been added and we have a directive from the US Embassy here in Harare that no U.S. citizen, U.S. business, or persons that live in the U.S. but may not be U.S. citizens, may do business with those on the List.  This means they may not hunt on their property or arrange travel through any of their businesses.  Even PHs who work for these people are subject to censor. Please check with the U.S. Embassy in Harare on e-mail consularharare@state.gov to be sure of your standing.

However, we have lots of members who are OK  and legal to hunt with, so do not be discouraged by the above warning, just check before you book with an operator and pay your money that he is not part of the banned list.

Please come and visit us at S.C.I. in January 2009.  Our stands are separated this year.  They will be 4318 in Association Row, and 52 in Trails End Pavilion.

In the meantime we wish you all a brighter New Year than the one you have just been through,  At least the worst part of it might be over now we understand.

 Best wishes

 Sally & Emmie
